David Lutes and Jason Black were long time friends before they decided to go into business together. David and Jason have known each other since attending Saint Xavier High School in Louisville. After high school, David went on to graduate with his Masters of Engineering from the University of Louisville. Jason, with a golf scholarship to Bellarmine University, graduated with a Masters of Business Administration.

Through high school, the two would visit new homes being built in Oxmoor Woods, Bridgepointe, and Hurstbourne. It was during their college years that the two first discussed what they felt was a very real need for high quality, organized and professional custom homebuilders in the Louisville area. The two realized that to pursue this dream, capital would be needed. David and Jason both received jobs at Top Fortune companies and garnered many skills transferable in running a successful custom homebuilding company. David and Jason began building for close family and friends while employed managing one to two projects a year.

Almost ten years later. Stonecroft Homes oversees around 15 homes a year. Stonecroft specializes in contract homes where they take clients from the initial concept design to handing over the keys after completion. The company has the unique ability in combining old world craftsmanship with modern amenities to create amazing new homes that accommodate individual lifestyles. Stonecroft has accomplished a number of renovation and restoration projects in some of the Louisville’s area finest homes. 2006 was their first entry in Homearama and they came in 1st place for the two awards given by the public; Favorite Home and Favorite Interior Design.

David and Jason oversee bidding, sales and marketing, meet with clients, designers, architects, and conduct financial negotiations. They both work closely with clients from the bidding and proposal stages through to project completion. David and Jason are hailed for their interpersonal skills and consistent ability to work with a wide variety of clients and professionals. They are each well recognized for their foresight, follow through, ensuring that even small details are effectively handled, and for the great passion they have for building Extraordinary homes.
